Finding Peace in Psalm 46:10 and Embracing God's Goodness in the New Year!

Happy New Year!

As we welcome the New Year, I am hopeful and grateful, reflecting on how God has faithfully guided us through each season. The spirit of Christmas remains, reminding me that God is always present and attentive in our lives. It is truly remarkable to know that the Creator of Heaven and Earth knows us personally; our faith is built on a relationship with Jesus Christ, not just religious tradition.

God's Goodness

As I considered the New Year, I recalled receiving two Christmas cards—one from a relative and another from a friend—both featuring the same scripture: Psalm 46:10, “Be still, and know that I am God.” The message within each card encouraged me to pause and reflect on God’s goodness.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 reminds us that “there is a time and season for everything”. I believe this is a time to remember God’s promises and His faithfulness—how He has opened doors, sent encouragement, and provided support just when needed the most. In moments of challenge, I have experienced His presence through the kindness of others, and I can truly say, that “God is good.”

Peace in His Presence

To be still is to seek peace in God's presence. This peace is not merely the absence of conflict but a profound sense of wholeness and tranquility that comes from within and knowing we are secure in His love and that God is in control. As Romans 8:28 reminds us, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose". Rest in His peace and know that He is working it out.

God's Blessings

No matter the circumstances or opinions around us, God remains constant. As you contemplate God's goodness and anticipate His mercy and grace in the New Year, may “‘The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and grant you peace.’” (Numbers 6:24-26)

Also remember that being blessed by God means receiving His favor, which goes beyond material wealth. It includes having peace of mind, body, soul, and spirit. As the psalmist says, "It is well with my soul". In addition, His divine blessing announces to unbelievers that God is actively involved in our lives, guiding and protecting us through both the highs and lows we may experience. As you take a moment to reflect on the goodness of God throughout the years, anticipate His mercy, grace, and loving kindness in the New Year.

Embracing the New Year

May we actively seek to experience God's blessings, basking in His presence, embracing His grace, and cultivating the peace that flows from a relationship with Him. In doing so, we can approach this year with renewed faith, strength, and optimism, trusting that God’s goodness will continue to be in our lives, guiding us in this journey called life.

Peace, Love and Blessings!

Have a wonderful, safe, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
